Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a promising agent for cancer therapy; however, many cholangiocarcinoma cells are resistant to TRAIL-mediated apoptosis. Resistance to apoptosis may unmask TRAIL signaling cascades favoring tumor biology.
