The effects of higher concentrations of atmospheric oxygen on the lifespans of wild type and a temperature-sensitive zyg-9(b244) mutant of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans were examined. Their mean and maximum lifespans decreased with increasing oxygen concentration.
