The Lynch syndrome [Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC)] is a dominantly inherited syndrome characterized by the development of a variety of cancers including cancer of colorectum, endometrium, and less frequently, cancer of the small bowel, stomach, urinary tract, ovaries, and brain.
