BACKGROUND & AIMS: Hyperhomocysteinemia, a risk factor for thrombosis, recurrent miscarriages, and osteoporosis, might derive from acquired folate and vitamin B 12 deficiencies and from a C677T mutation in methylene-tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene.
