Paracoccus pantotrophus GB17 requires thiosulfate for induction of the sulfur-oxidizing (Sox) enzyme system. The soxRS genes are divergently oriented to the soxVWXYZA-H genes. soxR predicts a transcriptional regulator of the ArsR family and soxS a periplasmic thioredoxin.
