A cDNA encoding gamma-tocopherol methyltransferase (gamma-TMT) from Arabidopsis thaliana was overexpressed in lettuce (Latuca sativa L.) to improve the tocopherol composition. Seven lines of lettuce (T0) containing the gamma-TMT transgene were produced by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.
