Satellite RNA (satRNA) associated with Bamboo mosaic virus (BaMV) is dependent on BaMV for replication and encapsidation. Molecular analyses of total RNA extracted from bamboo species collected worldwide revealed that 26 out of 61 BaMV isolates harbored satBaMV.
