Abstract excerpt
To isolate a carotenoid-hyperproducing yeast, Phaffia rhodozyma was treated by low-dose gamma irradiation below 10 kGy. Through repeated rounds of gamma irradiation and visual screening, a mutant 3A4-8 was isolated.
