Novak et al. [Brain Res. Mol. Brain Res. 107 (2002) 183] reported that a CAA insertion in the 3'-untranslated region of the Nogo gene was associated with schizophrenia. We examined the frequency of this CAA insertion in 57 European American subjects with schizophrenia and 243 controls, and in a smaller group of African American subjects (N=72; 20 with schizophrenia).
