Mucopolysaccharidosis I (MPS I) is a lysosomal storage disease caused by deficiency of alpha-L-iduronidase. In addition to the well-known human forms (Hurler, Hurler/Scheie, and Scheie syndromes), there exists a canine model of the disease.
