The clinical and genetic characteristics of inherited arrhythmic disorders in Japan are briefly summarized. The incidence of hereditary long QT syndrome (LQTS) in Japan seems comparable to that in western countries. The genotypes are mainly LQT1 and LQT2; LQT3 and other types are rare.
