Two novel spliced genes (UL131A and UL128) flanking UL130 were predicted from sequence comparisons between human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) and its closest known relative, chimpanzee cytomegalovirus (CCMV), and the splicing patterns were confirmed by mRNA mapping experiments.
