This paper reports the initial process of the enzymatic degradation of solution-grown lamellar single crystals of bacterial poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate] (P(3HB)) with an extracellular polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) depolymerase purified from Alcaligenes faecalis T1.
