We have identified a new single nucleotide polymorphism within the promoter region of the human allograft inflammatory factor (AIF-1) gene. The polymorphism, defined by Genbank accession number AF097515, was characterized as a C/T single base pair substitution at position -932. The T allele is associated with both HLA-DR2 and HLA-B7.
