The production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs) by a mucoid clinical isolate of Burkholderia cepacia involved in infections in cystic fibrosis patients, was studied. Depending on the growth conditions, this strain was able to produce two different EPS, namely PS-I and PS-II, either alone or together.
