Chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus) can suffer from AA amyloidosis featuring the joints as major targets of amyloid accumulation. Analysis of post-mortem recordings from commercial chickens revealed that amyloid arthropathy frequently occurred in brown layer chickens, but never in white layers.
