The vertebrate CRMP (collapsin-response-mediator protein) gene family comprises at least four members. These CRMPs exhibit about 60% amino acid identity with vertebrate dihydropyrimidinase (DHP), an amidohydrolase involved in the pyrimidine degradation pathway.
