Polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) and DNA sequencing were employed to screen the coding region of the alpha-antichymotrypsin (AACT) gene in Han-Chinese population for polymorphism possibly associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD).
