The phospholipids of Neisseria meningitidis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae were characterized by fast atom bombardment (FAB)-MS and GLC-MS. The major phospholipids were phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), followed by phosphatidylglycerol (PG), with minor amounts of phosphatidic acid (PA) and trace levels of cardiolipin (DPG).
