HIKE is a highly conserved sequence motif identified as a candidate pleckstrin-homology (PH) domain binding site in Gbeta proteins, protein kinases, ankyrin and kinesin. HIKE motifs occur also in gelsolin, neurogranin, neuromodulin and in the PH domain of Bruton tyrosin kinase (BTK).
