The aim of the study was to assess the apolipoprotein E polymorphism (apoE) in two familial cholestatic diseases-Alagille syndrome (AS) and progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC)-and to estimate its association with gallstone formation, cholesterol levels, and response to UDCA treatment.
