OBJECTIVE: 64 sera with serologically negative nonA-E were tested for HEV RNA and their serological characteristics were studied. METHODS: HEV RNA was tested by a reverse transcriptase PCR(RT-PCR) and the positive PCR products were cloned and sequenced.
