We describe a case of primary effusion lymphoma with T-cell phenotype, mixed genotype, and intranuclear herpesvirus inclusions visible with the light microscope. Cells were studied by immunohistochemical analysis, in situ hybridization, immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor gene rearrangement, and polymerase chain reaction.
