<h4>Objective: </h4> To provide mechanistic evidence for the epidemiological link between long-term use of alcohol containing mouthwashes and oral cancer. <h4>Methods:</h4> Human epithelial keratinocytes were exposed for 30 seconds to concentrations of ethanol commonly present in mouthwashes.
