<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Arenaviruses are a family of negative-sense RNA viruses mainly found in rodents in which they cause chronic asymptomatic infections. Some arenaviruses, however, can occasionally infect humans and cause pathogenic viral haemorrhagic fevers.
