Ophiopogon japonicus is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant widely cultured in China. Leaves of O. japonicus showing necrotic spots were extensively observed since the summer of 2019. This disease significantly reduced the quality and economic value of O. japonicus. A fungal species was isolated from necrotic leaves.
