The polyphagous shot hole borer (PSHB) Euwallacea fornicatus is an ambrosia beetle that poses a serious threat to hundreds of tree species in invaded countries. In its invaded range, it relies on a mutualistic fungus, Fusarium euwallaceae, for colony establishment and nutrition.
