<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) is a rare genetic disorder caused by accumulation of misfolded α-1 antitrypsin within hepatocytes. AATD patients are prone to develop liver disease that remains undiagnosed until the late stages of the disease.
