<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) is a multisystemic neuromuscular disease characterized by a CTG repeat expansion in the 3’ untranslated region of the gene coding for the dystrophia myotonica protein kinase (DMPK).
