A fragment of the mitochondrial cytochrome b (cyt b) gene of 13 agronomically important plant pathogenic Basidiomycetes was sequenced, including several Puccinia spp., Uromyces appendiculatus, Phakopsora pachyrhizi, Hemileia vastatrix and Rhizoctonia solani.
