Sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] pigments are associated with resistance to leaf diseases and grain deterioration. As a defence response, tan sorghum produces flavones (apigenin and luteolin), whereas wild‐type sorghum produces additional 3‐deoxyanthocyanidins (apigeninidin and luteolinidin).
