Myelodysplastic neoplasm (MDS) is a heterogenous clonal disorder of hemopoietic stem cells charac-terized by cytomorphologic dysplasia, ineffective hematopoiesis, peripheral cytopenias and risk of pro-gression to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
