<title>Abstract</title> <p>We report a case of a 5-year-old boy who presented with high fever, generalized petechiae, and severe thrombocytopenia. He was initially misdiagnosed with immune thrombocytopenic purpura. A careful physical examination revealed a characteristic eschar on the left forearm.
