Hypobetalipoproteinemia (HBLP) is characterized by plasma concentrations of apolipoprotein B (apoB) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) below the fifth percentile. Some forms of HBLP have been shown to be due to truncated forms of apoB-100.
