We analyzed 88 strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pneumoniae) isolated in Showa University Hospital from June 1995 to July 1996. The ratios of antibiotic resistance were 39% to penicillin G, 50% to erythromycin, and 2% to imipenem. No resistant to cefotaxime and ofloxacin was observed.
