Glomerella graminicola transformants were generated by insertional plasmid mutagenesis. Five transformants with developmental mutant phenotypes that segregated in crosses as single-gene mutations were selected. In four transformants, the mutant phenotype cosegregated with the inserted plasmid DNA.
