The interaction between a surface protein antigen (PAc) of Streptococcus mutans and human salivary agglutinin was analyzed with a surface plasmon resonance biosensor. The major component sugars of the salivary agglutinin were galactose, fucose, mannose, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine, and N-acetylneuraminic acid.
