A case-control study was carried out on 272 Chinese subjects over 40 years of age, including 157 hypertensives and 115 normotensives, to examine the association between angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism and blood pressure (BP) status.
