The sensitivities for Chagas disease diagnosis of haemoculture, xenodiagnosis, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of Trypanosoma cruzi kinetoplast deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) were compared for 101 patients living in an endemic region who were serologically positive for T. cruzi.
