1,044 E. coli strains were randomly collected by the beginning of 1992. Their susceptibility for seven beta-lactam antibiotics: amoxycillin, augmentin, ticarcillin, claventin, cephalothin, cefoxitin and cefotaxime, was studied routinely by the agar diffusion method.
