Mutants defective in O-acetylhomoserine sulfhydrylase (OAH-SHLase) were obtained in five yeast strains representative of different yeast genera: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Kluyveromyces lactis, Yarrowia lipolytica, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Trichosporon cutaneum.
