The phenotypic change of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in the media of pulmonary intraacinar arteries (IAA) was observed in rats during hypoxia. From 3 to 40 exposure days, pulmonary arterial pressure (PAP) and right ventricular hypertrophy increased parallely.
