We have examined the cell-specific expression of two fibronectin isoforms, EIIIA and EIIIB, during experimental hepatic fibrosis induced by ligation of the biliary duct. AT the mRNA level, EIIIA and EIIIB were undetectable in normal liver but expressed early injury, preceding fibrosis.
