We have characterized the requirements for the Protein Kinase A (PKA) catalytic subunit, DC0, in Drosophila oogenesis. Intercellular bridges in egg chambers from PKA deficient females are unstable, leading to the formation of multinucleate nurse cells by fusions of adjacent cells.
