The prevalence of alleles of genes of the Plasmodium falciparum population of Asar village in eastern Sudan was monitored over three consecutive years. The characters studied were parasite surface antigens, proteins detected by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, enzymes, and drug response.
