Twenty-nine plasmodium falciparum isolates from patients in Asar village, eastern Sudan, were characterized for variation in 18 different genetically controlled characters, including iso-enzymes, proteins detected by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and blood-stage antigens.
