Cranial and trunk neural crest cells produce different derivatives in vitro. Cranial neural crest cultures produce large numbers of cells expressing fibronectin (FN) and procollagen I (PCol I) immunoreactivities, two markers expressed by mesenchymal derivatives in vivo.
