Abstract excerpt
A red stripe phenotype from a natural population of Anopheles quadrimaculatus (Say) was introduced into a laboratory colony by induced copulation. Genetic crosses made with the red stripe (strd) mutant showed it to be a member of an allelic series with stripe (st+) and nonstripe (st). The strd character is condominant with st+, and st is recessive to both strd and st+.
