The inheritance of spotting pattern was investigated in the teleosts Brachydanio nigrofasciatus (leopard danio) and B. frankei (spotted danio). The segregation patterns observed in the progenies from nine different matings indicate a single-factor inheritance of the leopard and spotted phenotypes with complete dominance of the leopard type.
