Dioscin, a naturally occurring steroidal saponin isolated from various kinds of herbs with pleiotropic pharmacological properties, remains mechanistically undefined regarding its mammalian aging modulation. This study discovered that dioscin extended the lifespan of Caenorhabditis elegans.
